  1. Hello I have just purchased a directional grid parabolic long range antenna. It is the TP-LInk TL-ANT2424B. it is supposed to receive signals up to 38 miles away. Now I know that is in ideal circumstances. However I have read reviews on amazon stating that people are getting free wifi up to 4 to 8 miles away. See reviews: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CFATOW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#customerReviews I am only getting about 10 new connections and I don't get any signals outside of my small neighborhood. The connections are too weak to connect to as well. So basically I am not getting any new connections that I can connect to. My internal laptops wifi adapter was just fine. There is not a signifigant improvement. It seems to me that I should be getting much more and better long distance signals. I was trying to get free wifi about one mile away from a public hotspot. I have it (the antenna) mounted to a 15 foot pole. Its higher than my roof. Still no improvement really. I have my alfa wireless wif adapter connected to my long range antenna which is connected to my laptop. The long range TP-Link antenna is connected by low loss cable (TRENDnet Low Loss Reverse SMA Female to N-Type Male Weatherproof Connector Cable) to the alfa adapter which is connected to my laptop. Can someone help me troubleshoot the problem please? Thank you so much!!!
